Agate is an organizational transformation and workplace strategy consultancy established in 2022 to help companies navigate the future of work and what it means for their business, employees, and customers. Our ways of working were immediately transformed at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, and two years later, we are still only at the early stages of reckoning with what these changes mean and how we integrate them into new standard practices.

Experimentation and iteration are essential for the future of work because we live in a test bed and will continue for many years. Whether your company is determining what kind of flexibility works for your business and your employees, how to keep teams engaged and connected and the company, or how to design the workplaces, communication, and other tools to enable people to do their most effective work; we do not have benchmarks, standard practices, nor success metrics to tell us what will work and what won’t.

There is so much to be discovered and understood. Think of how much more confident we are about designing the future than last year and the year before. This is precisely why testing and continuous iteration - not unlike product teams - are critical to our collective success; what we know today will pale compared to what we know one year from now, let alone ten years from now.
